BREXIT is never far from the headlines at the moment, but despite the uncertainty surrounding the UK’s relationship with the EU, the local economy remains positive.

That’s certainly the case among our clients who have been keeping us very busy with a range of transactions during this year.

We have seen a big rise in the number of joint ventures between businesses, where clients are looking to move into new sectors which complement their own, or where they see potential growth with business partners.

This has been great to see because it is a clear demonstration of businesses doing well and having faith in the local, and national, economy.

Meanwhile, GDPR may have dropped down the national news headlines, but businesses are still taking time to get to grips with the new regulations.

There has been a significant rise in demand for updating terms and conditions to ensure they comply with the new data protection laws.

Much of this demand is due to the implementation of GDPR in May and businesses are now taking the opportunity to review and refresh the terms of their contracts with suppliers, agents, distributors and customers.

GDPR in itself has led to a lot of work, as the new regime is quite complicated and we have been helping to simplify it for clients.
