ARTWORK that celebrates the life and work of a renowned wartime poet is part of a gallery's latest exhibition.

Oswestry Visitor and Exhibition Centre is displaying a series of drawing, paintings and maquettes by artist Tim Turner relating to his work on a statue commemorating Wilfred Owen.

The statute will be unveiled at Cae Glas Park on Saturday, October 20 as part of the Wilfred Owen Festival, which is being held in and around Oswestry until November 17 to mark to centenary of the poet's death shortly before the end of the First World War.

Also on show at the centre this month are Jane Fairweather's quirky sculptures, which are fashioned from teacups with mini tree and gardenscapes.

Jane will is also exhibiting some hung pieces.
