A FLINTSHIRE fashionista is in the running to clinch the crown in a worldwide 'beauty' pageant next year.
Lauren Bevan, 20, of Connah's Quay, has made it to the final of Miss British Beauty Curve and could be set to then go on and represent North Wales in the worldwide pageant next August.
Although she has competed in many pageants, she has yet to make it to the final but is determined to throw out the widely accepted notion that girls have to be a 'size zero' to be beautiful, she said.
Lauren said: "I'm doing this to show girls and women that you don't have to be a size zero to be and feel beautiful. You can be any shape size and colour.
"It's taken me a while to realise this but now I do."
"It's so exciting as I wasn't expecting to make the final out of all the women who competed for a spot. I really didn't think I'd get to next year's final - it's a shock, but the universe has a funny way of making things happen.
The owner of clothing business Killer, will also be sponsoring herself through her own the funds of her own company.
