A HEALTH organisation wants to ensure that all voices are heard in a review into allegations of poor maternity care at two hospitals.

Healthwatch Shropshire wants to ensure that anybody who has information that would be useful to the review of maternity cases at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust is able to to make their voice heard.

Chief officer Jane Randall-Smith said: “We have been in contact with Donna Ockenden, the Senior midwife who was appointed last year to review 23 cases of alleged poor care."

Healthwatch Shropshire is the independent consumer champion for health and social care in Shropshire.

It gathers the views and experiences of patients, service users, carers, and the general public about services including hospitals, GPs, mental health services, community health services, pharmacists, opticians, residential care and children’s services.

The group also has statutory powers that it can use to influence service provision by encouraging improvements.
