A RUGBY club is urging women to get involved and find their "inner warrior".

Oswestry RFC is offering women the opportunity to participate in a trial session as part of England Rugby's Inner Warrior campaign.

England Rugby’s Warrior Camps are aimed at attracting more women to take up contact rugby. The camps teach participants key introductory skills and drills for rugby, with help on hand every step of the way.

The Warrior Camps also give mothers the chance to focus on themselves with their children back at school, introducing them to the basic skills of rugby through fast-paced team games and drills, all in a fun, friendly and commitment free environment.

Katy Daley-Mclean, an England Rugby international, says: “Rugby is incredibly inclusive, with the range of positions on the pitch requiring different attributes and skills to be played successfully.

“It encourages women from all backgrounds and physical statures to come together and bond through the sport.

“One of the best aspects of rugby is the variety of people you meet through the sport; the different characters and backgrounds of your teammates fosters a fun and sociable atmosphere which helps to strengthen the bonds between yourself and your teammates.”

The camp will held at Park Hall, Oswestry, on Sunday, September 2 between 2pm and 4pm.
