RESIDENTS of a village have the chance to learn to use lifesaving equipment.
Whittington Parish Council has installed a defibrillator on the wall of the Senior Citizen’s Hall.
Council clerk Amy Jones said: "It is very important to train as many people as possible to use the defibrillator, should a situation arise where it is required to help save someone’s life."
The parish council has arranged two training sessions in conjunction with the Oswestry Cambrian Rotary Club, which will be delivered by a Heart Start tutor and community first responder. T
The courses will take place on Saturday, August 4 at 10am and 10am on August 25 in the Senior Citizen's Hall, Station Road, Whittington
Sessions will last approximately two hours and there is no charge to attend, although the trainers just ask for donations at the end to support their life-saving work.
To attend one of the sessions, book onto the course with the clerk on 01691 829 571 or email clerk@whittingtonpc.com.
