CROWDS gathered at a school for a day of family-themed fun in the sunshine,

Hundreds of people attended this year's family fun day at the Marches School's in Oswestry.

The highlight for many at the event was a flypast by renowned aerobatic display team the RAF Red Arrows.

A post on the school's Facebook site hailed the fun day as a "wonderful occasion".

A spokesman said: "We would like to thank every person who attended the Family Fun Day on Saturday, whether you were a guest, a member of staff or holding a stall. It was a wonderful occasion."

The fun day, which was sponsored by Oswestry-based firm Aico, offered a mix of live entertainment, activities and stalls run by the area's craft producers.

Children from surrounding schools took part in the Festival of Talent with individual and group dance, vocal and instrumental performances.

The Festival of Talent also boasted poetry recitation and writing competition, a bakery contest, photography section and an art category.

There were plenty of things to see and do, including zorbing, Nerf Wars, a climbing wall, archery, go karts and a speed cage.

Other attractions included a bar, pop up café, pizza oven, Prosecco bar and sweet stalls.

Before the event, organisers told how the fun day would "show off what Oswestry has to offer".
