A SECONDARY school pupil has been recognised for her dedication

Rebecca Manford, captain of Hargreaves House, has won the Service to the School award at the Marches School Speech Day.

As Rebecca will not be present at Speech Day, the award was presented at the school by David Davies - president of award sponsors Oswestry Rotary Club - and chairman of The Marches governors, Mark Liquorish.

She received a shield, a certificate and an Amazon gift voucher.

Mr Davies read the citation prepared by the school: "Rebecca has maintained an impeccable record in school. Rebecca has put everything into her role in the student leadership and has attended all events possible to support the school.

"Her dedication will no doubt leave her in good stead with employers lucky enough to hire her in the future - well done Rebecca"

Congratulating Rebecca, Mr Davies said: "It is rewarding to see young people becoming involved in many aspects of school life. They enjoy their school life much more and it is good to know that the school recognises their efforts and will go on and support their future career plans where possible."
