The countdown continues to this year's Oswestry Makes as makers create flowers of peace and remembrance ahead of the Wilfred Owen Festival in November.

Organisers of the event are encouraging everyone to decorate their school, church, business, home, favourite tree and street with flowers made of anything you choose.

You might even enter a piece into one of the exhibitions at Oswestry Library or Qube (submission date is Friday, September 28).

If you are stuck for ideas, there are workshops being held at the library, Qube, Willow Gallery or one of the many other creative outlets in town, and there is also information about places to learn, patterns, events and more.

Debbie Marais, one of the organisers, said: "Oswestry Makes is also holding a craft book booksale at Oswestry Library throughout June, so if you have craft books you wish to rehome or are looking for inspiration come along to the library.

"The money raised will help to fund free workshops in lots of community venues around the town."

Upcoming events include making crochet flowers at the library on Wednesday, June 6, daisy chain making in Cae Glas Park on Saturday, June 9 as part of World Knit Day, and a cross stitch session at the library on Tuesday, July 10.
