North Shropshire College is gearing up for this year's Open Farm Sunday event.

The Walford Campus Farm, based in Baschurch, will be opening its doors to the public in conjunction with nearby Moor Farm to give visitors an understanding of day-to-day farm life.

Taking place on Sunday, June 10 between 10am and 3pm, the event will give a behind-the-scenes look at the farm.

There will be a variety of farm machinery on display, including tractors, the state of the art robotic milking machine and milking parlour, and the new milk vending machine unveiled at the recent Spring Lambing Day will also begin operation during the event.

There will also be a number of exciting activities for those of all ages including refreshments from Gee Gee’s horse box, the Walford Campus Animal Unit and a guess the weight of the lamb competition.

As there will be availability for disabled parking only at the Walford Campus, NSC will also be collaborating with Moor Farm near Baschurch to offer a trailer and tractor park and ride service on the day.

Lucy Evans, marketing and customer service manager at NSC, said: “These events are a great day out for families of all ages, and there will be a huge variety of exciting activities to try and things to see throughout the weekend.

"I would like to thank in advance all those who have organised, supported and will be attending the events."
