Callous thieves have stolen a charity box from a town centre cafe in Oswestry.

The box, in aid of the Air Ambulance, had been chained to the counter of the cafe in Willow Street.

But it was pulled free and stolen at 3.38pm on Sunday, May 20.

A spokesperson for Oswestry's Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) said: "The suspected offender has been described as a tall white male in his mid 20s/early 30s, 6ft tall, with short brown (mousy) hair, and wearing an all-grey Nike suit and white T shirt."

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or th anonymous Crimestoppers number quoting incident reference number 0746s 200518.

Other crimes being investigated by the Oswestry SNT include:

n A pedal cycle was stolen between 12.50pm and 1.10pm on Thursday, May 17, from Cross Street in Oswestry.

The metallic blue, Giant Toughroad bike had been chained to a post. The chain was also stolen (0351s 170518).

n A mobile phone was stolen while the owner was at the checkouts in Sainsbury's on Black Gate Street on the evening of Friday, may 18.

A police spokesperson said: "It was stolen possibly by a young person. The phone was eventually traced and recovered after the offender or offenders had attempted to block the tracker."

The reference number is 0888s 180518.

n A dashboard camera was stolen from an unlocked car which was parked on a driveway in Oakhurst Road, Oswestry, over the weekend between Friday, May 18 and Monday, May 21 ( 0164s 220518).
