Police in Oswestry have pledged to tackle anti-social behaviour associated with boy racers.

The town's Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) receives regular complaints about boy racers which can range from them driving around town or being parked up in town centre car parks.

A spokesperson said: "Most 'boy racer' car types just need to be educated in what effects their behaviour is having on others. Just because they drive through the town they think they are doing no harm, but when you have a rather loud exhaust the noise that is produced echoes into people houses

"We are helping to teach drivers the effects of their driving in built up areas to make a happier and safe community in which we live.

"If you do have any local issues then contact Oswestry Central SNT by calling 101."
