The bells will be ringing in St Mary's Church, Ellesmere on Sunday to celebrate the Royal wedding.

A full peal is planned for the bells which is 5040 changes and takes three hours to complete.

Peals are rung for special celebrations and are a major achievement of skill and concentration for the ringers.

It represents the maximum possible number of changes and different orders of ringing seven bells.

The first time a peal was rung in Ellesmere was in 1730. This will be the first time a peal has been rung on the bells since they were re-tuned and refurbished four years ago at a cost of £90,000.

The bells will start at around 1pm and will continue until 4pm. The ringers are planning to close the sound control shutters in the tower to reduce the level of noise.
