An application for a confiscation order has been made against a Wrexham woman who stole cash from an elderly Shropshire woman while working as a carer.
Lauren Pearce took more than £20,000 from the Oswestry pensioner to pay for her drug addiction and a holiday and music festival tickets.
The 25-year-old was jailed for a year last month having admitted a charge of fraud.
At Shrewsbury Crown Court last week the prosecution applied for a confiscation order under the Proceeds of Crime Act in relation to the stolen money.
Judge Peter Barrie adjourned the hearing until June 8 while inquiries are made into Pearce's current financial status.
At the hearing the theft of the money was described as a 'blatant breach of trust'.
Pearce, of Bryn Road, Moss, Wrexham, had been trusted to withdraw £250 in cash at a time from a cashpoint for the 75-year-old victim.
However, between December, 2016 and September last year she stole just under £21,000 in goods and cash which she used to feed her cocaine habit and pay for a holiday to Ibiza and tickets to attend the Creamfields Festival.
Pearce had accepted her actions were selfish and that she was motivated by greed and a lifestyle she could not afford.
