Oswestry under 18 girls have achieve six out of six at the RFU Centre of Excellence Worcester Valkyries trails.

On Sunday, February 18, six of the Oswestry U18’s girls were invited for trials at the RFU Centre of Excellence at Worcester Valkyries.

Worcester Valkyries are one of only ten clubs nationally that compete at the highest level of English elite women’s rugby – the Tyrells Premier 15s – as well as a second-team that play in the Second XV League.

Since February 18 it has been a waiting game for Pip Lantos, Sioned Davies, Amber Jackson, Phoebe Leslie-Miller, Abi Kershaw and Jess Kershaw, all eager to find out if they have been selected.

The wait is over, last night we found out that all six girls have been selected and will know be part of the RFU Valkyries Centre of Excellence.

This is a huge achievement for the girls individually, the Oswestry girls section and a proud moment for the Oswestry Rugby Club.

The girls section has been developed over the last two-and-a-half-years by the hard work of Rob Kershaw and his coaching team. The path way for girls is clear at Oswestry Rugby club from the minis to the girl’s section to North Mids to the Centre of Excellence at Worcester Valkyries.
