A community project across Oswestry has launched for a second year.

Members of Hope Church Oswestry are offering to help families, organisations, and individuals who may need a helping hand with practical projects through their Osbless project.

The church is aiming to generate over 200 hours of voluntary work for the community in one week which will take place between May 12 and 20.

Helen Evans, Hope Church's community outreach worker, said: “We were able to successfully undertake 14 projects last year, helping families and some of the most vulnerable in our community, working in partnership with other voluntary and statutory organisations including STAR Housing.

"We are looking forward to having fresh challenges and nominations for 2018.”

Last year’s projects included decorating the homes of vulnerable people, making planters for Oswestry in bloom, cleaning graffiti from the town centre and running a cream tea afternoon in a care home.

If you know of anybody who needs a helping hand, or would like to volunteer to help then please email helen@hopechurchoswestry.org.uk or call 01691 655546.

The deadline for nominating a project is March 23, 2018.
