Oswestry's first Comic Con has launched a competition for schoolchildren.
Martin Portlock, the man behind the two-day extravaganza, is calling on all schools in the area to design a trophy for the OzConUK cosplay competition with the winning school standing to receive a cash prize.
The cosplay contest calls on enthusiasts to dress up as their favourite sci-fi character.
Martin told the Advertizer: "The winner will also get free entry to OzConUK each day and will get to present the trophy to the winner if they want to."
The OzConUK event takes place on Saturday and Sunday, August 4 and 5, at Oswestry Leisure Centre, and has already attracted big names including Matthew Dales from Star Wars - Rogue One, and Davros and his Daleks from the BBC's Doctor Who.
Martin continued: "There's so much going on.
"We're getting a lot of good feedback from the public and a lot of people are getting involved.
"We've still got a few surprises to come, but it's building up nicely."
