The official opening of the Oswestry Men’s Shed was held at the showground in Park Hall last week.
Established in 2014, the shed operates as a club for older men to undertake practical activities and socialise in Oswestry.
At their twice-weekly meetings, the group collaborate to produce woodwork and metalwork for local projects, while others attend on a social basis to meet new friends.
Representatives from companies and organisations to have sponsored the project attended the shed on Wednesday, where a buffet lunch was served.
Treasurer Hilbre Jones said: “It was a great morning and we were very happy to have Priscilla Hilton-Jones with us on behalf of the Hilton-Jones Charitable Trust, whose grant made our work at the showground possible.
“Our chairman, Ken Baker, gave a great opening speech, before a buffet was served for everyone to enjoy.”
Now boasting a membership of 36, Oswestry Men’s Shed remain keen to attract new members.
Anyone interested in joining should contact Hilbre Jones on 07821357356.
