THE death of a woman near to an acclaimed world heritage site is not being treated as suspicious.
The body of a 37-year-old woman was recovered from a spot near the Grade One listed Pontcysyllte aqueduct at about 2pm on Saturday.
North Wales Police confirmed the woman was from the Wrexham area and that they were called to the scene by the Welsh Ambulance Service who reported the death.
Force incident manager, Inspector Rob Grant said: "The death is not being treated as suspicious.
"Next of kin have been informed."
Completed in 1805, and built by esteemed engineer Thomas Telford, the Poncysyllte aqueduct it is the longest and highest in Britain.
It was granted World Heritage status by UNESCO in 2009.
