TWELVE young men have been arrested following a violent attack on partygoers at a house in Maesbrook which resulted in multiple injuries and thousands of pounds worth of damage.

Trouble broke out at the November 14 party last year when a group of uninvited young men arrived in several vehicles and gained entry, before assaulting a number of people inside the house and driving off.

Eleven have been arrested on suspicion of committing violent disorder at the address, while another has been arrested on suspicion of assault, causing grievous bodily harm.

The nasty incident left some people requiring hospital treatment for injuries including broken jaws, a perforated ear drum and cuts which required stitches.

Police Constable Royston Alderwick, the investigating officer based at Oswestry, said: “As a result of extensive inquiries, a total of 12 people have been arrested in connection with this incident.
“The investigation is continuing and I appeal to anyone who was present at the time and witnessed any part of the disorder, to contact me at Oswestry police station on 0300 333 3000.
“A number of people have already come forward with helpful information but there may be others who can help who we have not yet spoken to,” he added.

The men are aged from 17 to 21 and mainly live in the Welshpool area. All have been given police bail with conditions while inquiries continue.
Further arrests have not been ruled out by West Mercia Police.

Around 50 people had been invited to the party with at least ten people suffering injuries.
A number of cars were damaged and extensive damage caused to the house  and amounting to thousands of pounds.

PC Alderwick added: “The violence was unprovoked and the police are determined to arrest all those responsible.
“It is important that anyone who can provide information should get in touch,” he added.
