THE closing date for the next round of grants from Oswestry and District Sports Council will be on Monday, January 21.
Applications are invited from sports clubs or individuals who live or train in the Oswestry area, to help them in their sport.
The eligible area is the part of Shropshire within ten miles of Oswestry which therefore includes Ellesmere and Baschurch.
Full details and application forms are available at the ‘Grants’ tab on the Sports Council page at www.oswestrygames.co.uk
Oswestry Sports Council Grants are distributed three times per year. In October 2012, grants were awarded to three individuals and four local sports clubs.

Matthew Lee was given a grant to help with his tennis coaching costs and Oswestry Rugby Club was awarded funding to buy new equipment for their growing Juniors section.
Oswestry Sub-aqua Club and Oswestry Team Tennis Club were both given contributions toward coach training costs and the Oswestry Otters Swimming Club had help with publicity to attract new members.
Oswestry and District Sports Council is grateful to the Oswestry cluster of LJCs for delegating funding to distribute as grants to support local sport.
