TNS midfielder Chris Seargeant has put pen to paper on a one-year extension to his current contract as director of football Craig Harrison moved to secure the former Everton man’s stay at the Oswestry club.

Seargeant signed for The New Saints from rivals Bangor in 2009 having previously sat on the bench for David Moyes’ Merseysiders in their Champions League qualifier at Villarreal in 2005.

Since coming to TNS he has made 97 Welsh Premier League appearances, scoring 15 goals and has picked up two league winners medals as well as winning the FAW Cup and three League Cup titles.

The 26-year-old has become one of the Saints’ mainstays this season with his performances proving to be instrumental in the club’s bid to retain last season’s championship crown having started 17 of their 20 league matches so far this term and scoring four goals in the process.
