Oswestry Pool League
OSWESTRY Pool League launched into two divisions when the new 2012/13 season ‘broke-off’ recently following an increased interest from teams looking to join.
Teams from Ruabon and Four Crosses have been added to Division One, but the early pacesetters are the regulars Plough A who currently sit top of the table with six wins from their opening six games and 23 points in the pot.
But Unicorn A are just behind them with five wins from their five games and 16 points, with player Tom Williams leading jointly with Paul Allen from the Five Lions, both with an impressive 100 per cent record from their five games.
Ian Jones of the Red Lion has already recorded two break and clearances from this season’s opening fixtures.
The newly formed Division Two also features a host of new teams, including two from both the Venue Oswestry and the Oswestry Ex-Servicemens Club.
The Venue B are currently performing the best out of the newcomers, sitting third place in the table having won their opening three matches.
Top of the table are the Unicorn Tin Tins with 14 points, a one-point advantage over the currently undefeated Wynnstay Llansilin. But its Unicorn Tin Tins’ Les Tinney who holds the individual standings top spot with four wins from four.
