Paralympic archer Mikey Hall missed out on a medal during yesterday’s Individual Compound Men’s Open in Rio.

Hall, who hails from St Martins, was beaten 143-136 by the Italian Alberto Luigi Simonelli in the quarter final stage of the competition.

Earlier in the day, Hall had clinched impressive victories over Martin Imboden of Switzerland and America’s Kevin Polish.

Hall’s performance saw him finish seventh overall after his elimination at the hands of eventual silver medal winner, Simonelli.

Following the defeat Hall took to social media to send a message to his fans. Posting via his Twitter account, he wrote: “Just like to say sorry that I did not medal. I came in the top 8 and I have had an awesome time. I will come back big and stronger.”

Elsewhere, there was unprececdented success for the ParalympicsGB team after winning nine golds on Wednesday to take their overall tally to 43.
