OSWESTRY head into a crucial stage of their campaign with a trip to Cleobury Mortimer on Saturday.

The Eagles are enjoying a stellar Midlands West (North) Two season with coach Jordan Davies not ruling out a crack at promotion.

However he warned the next few weeks would be crucial as clubs up and down the country once again braced themselves for the interruption caused by the Six Nations.

Davies said: "After a commanding performance against a strong Newport team last week we are relishing the opportunity of a run of away games to cement our place in the top four of the table.

"A promotion push will hinge on the next few results and how we navigate team availability and selection through the Six Nations."

Davies said the weekend derby would provide another test for his players who he backed to step up to the challenge.

"Last week's win gave us a lot of confidence, both in our attacking ambitions and our defensive grit across the park," said Davies.

"When we look at this season's results we can say that we have either beaten or done the double on some of the toughest teams in the league.

"Having got promoted last season we obviously targeted our home games but also knew that we had more than enough quality in our ranks to beat teams away from home.

"Cleobury is another away derby game and a chance for us to prove ourselves on the road," he added. "I think it’s also important that we put markers down for next season if we have ambitions for improvement and promotion.

"With our Colts boys starting to have more influence on our games, the exciting addition of our Argentinian signing Francisco and a more consistent team selection I am hoping we can have another exhilarating performance on Saturday."
