Caernarfon Town 1 TNS

THE New Saints extended their lead at the top of the JD Cymru Premier to a staggering 20 points as Caernarfon Town were outclassed on home turf on Friday night.

The Saints will lift the championship with four points from their remaining seven games - further underlining the one-sided nature of the top flight.

The visitors took the lead with less than two minutes on the clock when Jordan Marshall’s corner was headed home by Brad Young from six yards.

Sion Bradley equalised with a goal of the season contender just six minutes later, spinning on the edge of the area before curling beyond Connor Roberts.

Bradley went close with a 22nd minute free-kick but his side were again trailing after half an hour with Adrian Cieslewicz completing a swift counter-attack, to slot past Lewis Webb.

The captain for the night was in the right place at the right time to tap home Marshall’s inviting cross from inside the six-yard box two minutes later and the Polish winger turned provider to set up Young for his second of the night on 34 minutes.

Craig Harrison’s side picked up where they left off before the break.

It was more great vision from Cieslewicz to slip the ball to Young inside the penalty area and the league's Cymru leading goalscorer fired between the legs of the goalkeeper to complete his hat-trick.

Another accurate cross from Marshall found the head of Rory Holden inside the box to head home his side's sixth on the hour.

Webb pulled off a superb double save to deny Declan McManus and then Ash Baker with eight minutes remaining.

Three minutes later Blaine Hudson powered home a header from close-range following a great cross from Holden with the latter completing the rout with a powerful strike at the death.
