TNS skipper and veteran goalkeeper Paul Harrison believes his eighth Welsh Premier League title is just as special as his first.

The Saints keeper lifted the outstanding trophy alongside vice-captain Chris Marriott after Saints thrashed Cefn Druids 5-1 at Park Hall.

While Harrison admitted the joint lift was a mixture of enjoying the moment and the trophy being difficult to raise, he was delighted to win for boss Scott Ruscoe, who is a former playing colleague of the Liverpool-born stopper.

"This is my eighth – I won one before the run started," he said. "This is just as good as the others as you win differently each year.

"My first one was the last game of the season and this year we’ve won it comfortably. It’s another happy moment in the career. Lifting that brilliant trophy is amazing but it’s heavy enough – it’s why we need two of us doing it."

"You worry because its so sharp but I’m really happy to lift it again, especially with our vice-captain Chris who’s been here as along as I have.

"Scott’s been brilliant; I played with him and obviously it’s nice to help him win his first one as manager. He’s still a friend and it’s a nice moment for us all.

"Champions League is always the aim and we’ve already upped the training for it, but we’re definitely going to enjoy the celebrations."

Meanwhile, Tom Holland – who scored an outstanding long-range effort – was delighted to win his first title since joining the club as one of Ruscoe's first signings last summer.

He added: "It’s a really proud moment for us. Obviously we found out the other day and that might have been a bit of an anti-climax for us but I’m so proud.

"I was trying to get a goal – I had about seven or eight shots but I got there in the end. The lads are always telling me in training to stop shooting and just do what I’m really good at, but I was pleased to get one in the end.

"I think I need to be more selfish instead of passing onto more people. But I’m really happy to be back in the Champions League. That’s the aim and it’s expected here."
