Oswestry Paragon Time Trials Series

After the sunshine of round one it was back to cool and overcast conditions for round two of the series.

Despite the chilly conditions 27 riders took part in the 10-mile event and it was a first victory for Paragon junior rider Kieran Morris who knocked more than two minutes off his round one time clocking 22 minutes and one second, despite the 17-year-old reporting that he found it hard going.

Morris had a clear winning margin over David Scott of 22:47 of 3C Payment Sports who set his time on a standard road bike.

Third place went to Dave Saunders of Mid Shropshire Wheelers who was another rider who put in a significant improvement on week one finishing in 23:01, putting him ahead of Andy Rose of Nova Raiders CC (23:32).

Two Wrexham RC riders fought out fifth and sixth place with Tom Davies (23:34) coming out ahead of Dylan Roberts (24:06).

New Paragon rider Lee Williams crossed the line in 24:13 to take seventh putting him just ahead of teammate Glyn Jones (24:15), and the final two top 10 places were filled by Tim Jones of Mid Shropshire Wheelers (24:35) and Andy Howell of Oswestry Paragon (25:04).

Lou Williams set herself the target of doing a sub 26-minute ride this season and the OO Tri rider was thrilled to have achieved it in round two, clocking 25:43 to take the honours of being fastest woman ahead of Paragon junior Lucy Hammonds (31:56).

Jack Young may find the competition a little tougher this year in his battle to retain his junior trophy, the 14-year had bad luck with traffic but still crossed the line in 26:10.
