New shelters at Chirk AAAs Bowling Club have been officially opened.
The features, which were completed last year, were opened just in time for the new season on Saturday, with one officially named The Colin Evans Memorial Stand, in memory of founder member, captain, secretary and green keeper.
Members of Colin's family attended the opening including his wife Violet, son Martyn, daughters Jacqueline Parkin and Jane Wilson, and grandson Michael Evans. Unable to attend was son Mark who is currently living in the USA.
Unfortunately members were unable to bowl the green because of the weather.
