I’ve SAID beforehand that if Liverpool beat Manchester City, they’d have a chance to win the Champions League because City had everything in their armoury to win it.

I thought Real Madrid and Bayern Munich were quite poor in their first leg clash that Real won, so if Liverpool can get past Roma ¬– which you’d have to say is 70 or 80 per cent done – why can’t they win it again?

With the strike force they have and the energy they play at, I could certainly see them do it.

Liverpool, before Roma grabbed those last two goals, were frightening. The tempo and pace they play at and their willingness to defend, plus their ability to stick together both attacking and defensively.

Their so much quality about their play to be so happy about as a Liverpool fan. Even in that last 10 minutes when the game was turned upside down, that’s just Liverpool and the way they play and I don’t think they’re going to change their style.

You’re always going to get end-to-end football.

Jurgen Klopp tried to be upbeat but they did let two goals in after they were cruising. If you look at Roma at 5-0, they were dejected and just wanted to get off the pitch, especially when they took a look at the scoreboard.

It’s one of those games, and we’ve all played in them, when you’re thinking when’s this 90th minute coming because the other team is so strong.

But they managed to score twice and it could have an adverse effect on Liverpool. However, if Liverpool were asked if they would taken a 5-2 to begin with, they’d have bitten your hand off.

Liverpool will score in Rome and then Roma will have to score more goals, so I think Liverpool have done more than enough to get through.

I’ve said it before, as a fan, I wouldn’t be going to Rome now. I don’t know what those mindless thugs were thinking attacking the Liverpool fan who had no background in violence.

He’s just gone to watch the game and then that happens. There’s no place in football for it.
