Manchester City put the seal on their title-winning weekend with a brilliant 5-0 thrashing of Swansea City on Sunday, with some sumptuous football played by the champions.

City winning the league by April was both good and bad, as it was great to watch their football this season but they won it at a canter.

With Pep Guardiola, it was great to watch what he does with players, how he sets up and what he does with individuals and how he keeps them all happy. From the outside looking in, he seems to keep his players happy.

However, he has fallen out with Sergio Aguero a few times but you don’t see too many other rumblings about him so it would be interesting to know how he does it and also how they would have dealt with a bit more competition.

Manchester United didn’t do enough, Liverpool are too inconsistent and Tottenham are flattering to deceive while Arsenal and Chelsea are nearly-rans. It’s going to take a few extra signings for them to get anywhere close.

City’s first target now is to win another one to start their domination, just like their neighbours. If they win the Premier League next year, then they’ll want to add the Champions League too.

That’s what Guardiola has been brought in to do, to win that illustrious trophy – that’s what he’s being paid to do. But they need to win that league title again, not just once and then again in five years.

That’s what they want to do, to improve on it and get their next trophy so soon with next season being their target.
