The GIGI Buffon sending off this weekend has been one of the dominating stories.

I was out and hadn't watched all the game but I was keeping an eye on the score building up to 3-0. I got home thinking I'd see extra time but I saw 90 minutes plus and Real had won.

I saw his reaction but for me, it was a penalty, whether it was the first minute or 90th minute and then the reaction of the players, crowding out Michael Oliver was not good to see.

But at first I didn't know what he said but there was a lot said in the heat of the moment. You've got to feel for Buffon because Oliver could have just given him a yellow and got on with it. Whether he realised it would be Buffon's last-ever Champions League or not, I don't know, and his illustrious career also. But sentiment goes out of the window.

It could have been a little bit more sensible and given a lot of yellow cards too because it wasn't just Buffon around him.

However, the keeper will probably regret the things he said after the game, where he called him inept, among other things.

I know he pushed Oliver in the back and is reported to have called him a 'ba****d' and I can understand why he was sent off.

It's just a shame because it was such a great game and a spectacle that people want to see but they don't want to see incidents like that at the end of the game.

If he did call him those things then, according to the letter of the law, he had to send him off which is a big shame.
