The CHAMPIONS League is back tonight and picking a winner is getting to be tough one.

Real Madrid are the team with great experience but while they're not having a great time in the league, they're still going to be up there to win the Champions League.

The stand-out tie for us is obviously Liverpool versus Manchester City.

We've spoken about how much of a fan I am of Manchester City's football, and they might be able to do it. But, on the other side, I have a sneaky feeling that Liverpool might be able to do it over the two legs.

If City do get past Liverpool, I think they can go and win it but Liverpool are capable of winning because of the way they've performed against English clubs in the past.

Being a Liverpool fan, fingers crossed they go and do that but I think it might make a difference that the first leg is Anfield and not the other way around. City can get a good result away and then implement their game plan at home.

But I think there's something in the air for Liverpool. Guardiola will have that game plan and aim to nick a goal and then have extra incentive before their own fans.

There are still some really good teams left in the draw but Manchester City get past Liverpool, then I fancy them.

Barcelona is an interesting one; without talking about Lionel Messi again, it was incredible to see how much they rely on him. They were losing 2-0 to Sevilla on Saturday night without him.

We were watching on the bus coming back from Bangor and he came on to rescue them. Barcelona do have the consistency of playing the same way without forcing it but yes they did have Messi to come on and save them.

He scored the equaliser as Barca came back but without him, I don't see them as strong as in recent years. That said, they're so clear in the league and might be one of the favourites to win the Champions League.

Even with new managers coming in and evolving, they continue to play in the same way, regardless of who's in charge and they should be a force to be reckoned with in the rest of the competition.
