Welsh National League (Wrexham Area)

Premier Division

Lex Glyndwr 0-0 Chirk AAA

The Colliers made the relatively short trip up the A438 but were held to a goalless draw as their title ambitions stalled further.

The Holyhead Road men sit in fourth spot as they try to chase down leaders Brickfield Rangers, who have a nine-point lead.

Chirk and Rangers have played the fewest games in the top five with 15; however, Buckley Town lay menacingly with just 11 games played and 12 points behind the leaders.

The goalless draw was just one of three clashes to be played in the Premier Division as the ‘Beast from the East’ left its mark on north Wales.

This week, Chirk will look to bounce back as they travel for another clash with Llanuwchllyn (2.30pm), whom they beat in the FAW Trophy earlier on this season.

Meanwhile, the Reserves’ home clash with Castell AC was postponed. This week, they are set to host FC Nomads at Holyhead Road for a 2.30pm start.

FC Oswestry Town 3-3 Carlisle City

It was a topsy-turvy six-goal thriller at Park Hall on Saturday as FC Oswestry Town had to eventually settle for a point.

It was nightmare start for Town as their visitors, who had made the long trip down on the M6, took a 24th-minute lead through Lee Hoolickin.

Seven minutes later, it went from bad to worse for Town as James Earl doubled City’s lead to give them hope of taking all three points back north.

However, shortly before the hour, Jacob Farleigh – on loan from The New Saints – gave Town a foothold in the game.

Six minutes later, it was all-square as Lok Yang scored to make it 2-2 and then 10 minutes later, Town completed the turnaround.

Sam Thomas notched to give Town hope they would be picking up their first league win since the first weekend of January.

But it wasn’t to be as Ryan Errington didn’t proved to be like name, like nature and made no mistake in front of goal to give City a deserved point.

Tonight, Town will turn their focus to cup matters as they head to Irlam in the Macron Cup third round (7.45pm) and then on Saturday, they will host league leaders Silsden Town at Park Hall (3pm).

Ellesmere Rangers P-P Wednesfield

Rangers missed out on the chance to continue their recent good form under bosses Jamie Haynes and Kevin Sandwith as the weather intervened.

The postponement keeps the Meresiders in fifth-place and on Saturday, they will hope to have a say in the title race when they travel to Wolverhampton Sporting Community for a 3pm start.

While Community only sit one spot above Rangers, they have six games in hand on league leaders Malvern Town who only have a six-point lead.

First Division

Worcester Raiders P-P St Martins

St Martins warmed up for this week’s Ethelston Cup semi-final clash with Allscott with a six-goal salvo in a hastily-arranged friendly against Wellington Amateurs after their trip to Worcester was called off.

Harrison Millington and Shawn Melusi both grabbed a double while Callum Greybrook and Dave Easthope also notched.

The semi-final will be played at Whitchurch Alport’s Yockings Park tomorrow for a 7.30pm kick-off.

Shropshire Premier League

Gobowen Celtic were without a game in the Premier Division and missed out on the chance to get the previous week’s 9-1 thrashing out of their system.

They will be back in action on Saturday as they head to Clee Hull United for a 3pm kick-off.

In Division One, St Martins Village also missed out on action after their home clash with Wrockwardine Wood Juniors was beaten by the weather.

The Villagers still have a four-point lead at the top of the table, although Coven United have a game in hand.

But they will be made to wait until the month is out as they are without a scheduled league game until April 7.

JT Hughes Montgomeryshire League

Four Crosses head into the business end of the season as they face Division Two high-flyers Forden United in the semi-final of the Emrys Morgan Cup at Guilsfield tonight.

It kicks off at 7.30pm.

Meanwhile, like many leagues across the country, the action was wiped out by the weather as all four clashes in Division One were postponed.

Only two clashes in Division Two were played and neither featured local teams while Llanrhaeadhr Reserves and Trefonen's Llansantffraid Village Cup clash also fell foul of the weather.
