THE Ellesmere College Under 16 Girls' Hockey team were undefeated in this year's North Shropshire Hockey Tournament.
The team beat Oswestry 2-0 in the first match, with Viola Grosvenor providing many excellent balls through to the wing players.

Goals arose when Lucy Forgrave's shot was deflected in by Sophie Halstead, and Lydia Lam was quick on the back post to slot in Emily Lewis' cross.

The girls defeated Moreton Hall 3-0 in the second match, the first goal arose early as Emily Lewis lifted the ball into the top corner of the goal, and the second soon followed when Lydia Lam approached the back post to push in another.

Emily Lewis finished the match with another superb goal, again striking it into the top corner of the goal.

The next game against Lakelands resulted in three quick goals in the first half, with Emily Lewis, Lydia Lam and Zoe Evans each scoring a goal.

Against Grove school the girls began to tire and drew 0-0. Each player showed much determination, with Charlotte Shearer and Mel Evans breaking down any advancement and the team, although creating many opportunities, were unfortunate not to score.
