Rangers miss out on third place
Wednesfield 1, Ellesmere Rangers 1
ELLESMERE Rangers went into the last game of the season needing to win to finish third, but after five minutes a long ball from Wednesfield fullback into Ellesmere's box was headed past Ed Shone for the opening goal.
The game settled down and Ellesmere had several good chances and it was mostly Ellesmere who had the majority of play.
In the 40th minute Andy Reeve shot from 20 yards out which went under the 'keeper for a well deserved equaliser.
In the second half Ellesmere were kicking uphill, but had the majority of the play, with near misses from Steve Evans, Danny Barton and Andy Ford all going close to getting the winner, but it was not to be and with the other results all going against them, unfortunately Rangers finished seventh in the final league table.
This is five places higher than last year, so all-in-all a good season.
