The New Saints 2, Bala Town 1

TEN man Saints recovered from their European exit to take all three points from their Welsh Premier clash with Bala Town, courtesy of Alex Darlington's late goal.

Chris Sharp had given The Saints an early lead as his side looked to build on their 5-2 opening day win over Prestatyn Town.

But Mark Jones levelled for the visitors before Sharp saw red in the second half, leaving substitute Darlington with the chance to make an impact on the game after Matty Williams and Phil Baker were both forced off with injuries.
