TOP class bowling by skipper Mark Robinson and Indian ace Mudassir Pasha gave Oswestry an unlikely win over high-flying Coleshill at Morda Road in the Birmingham League on Saturday.

Robinson took the last five wickets after Pasha had whipped out four of the top order, and Coleshill were bowled out for 86 inside 29 overs.

Oswestry's win was all the more remarkable in that a long rain interruption meant the Coleshill innings was scheduled to last just 31 overs, and that Coleshill's winning draw target was only 96.

Robinson finished with 5-9 and Pasha 4-44 as Oswestry took a maximum 24 points to lift themselves into the top half of the Division Three table.

Earlier, Pasha had top-scored with 29 in Oswestry's total of 170. Alex Huxley (22), Alun Morris (22) and Dean Suter (21) all passed 20, but the key stand came for the ninth wicket, when Oliver Clarke (21no) and Sam Huxley (15) took the score from 126-8 to 162-9 before Huxley was run out.

This Saturday, Oswestry travel to Penn (noon).

Oswestry Seconds came back from Coleshill with a four-wicket success and 24 points.

Coleshill were bowled out for 163, with Dave Vart taking 4-30 in a fine 15-over spell, and Matt Whitthread weighing in with 3-23.

Pete Holloway then hit an unbeaten 70 and in-form Steve Humphreys 34 as Oswestry replied with 165-6.

Oswestry Thirds collapsed from 58-2 to 70 all out as they fell by five wickets at Whitchurch Thirds.

Luke Jones top-scored with 29, but there were four consecutive ducks in the Oswestry middle order.

Martyn Leonard bowled a tremendous spell to finish with 5-38 in the Whitchurch innings, but the home side reached their target at 71-5.

Oswestry Fourths landed only their second victory of the season when they beat their Whitchurch counterparts by seven wickets to make it three wins out of four for the club.

Harry Leather took 4-24 and Owen Aspinall 2-9 to help bowl out Whitchurch for 76, and then Richard Jones scored 30 and Adrian Griffith 19 in Oswestry's 77-3.
