AN OSWESTRY horse rider is seeking sponsorship to acheive her goal to ride for the British team.
Samira York, is a Grade IV rider who has a severe form of Rheumatoid Arthritis which has affected her since she was six years old.
While being based at Oswestry Equestrian Centre the talented 15-year-old also currently trains with the Clwyd Special Riding Centre in Llanfynydd near Mold.
The event brought together riders from as far afield as Japan, Hong Kong, Poland and the Czech Republic and was designed to give young top level riders the opportunity to ride under international rules with international judges.
Samira rode her own pony Jaoua Ar Park, which she also rode at the British Dressage Para Talent Spotting competition in February where she won the junior section.
Having competed at the Riding for the Disabled National Championships in Gloucester only two weeks ago, Samira said she was thrilled to be selected for the international event. She rode two excellent tests and is now busy training for her next competition in August.
