A PANT man was been commended by Isle of Man tourism chiefs for his support of the famous Tourist Trophy (TT) Races, attending for more than 50 years.
Grenville Wilde, 68, along with 16 other TT fanatics attended a special ceremony recently where he was thanked for his support with a tankard and grandstand tickets from the Tourism and Leisure Minister Adrian Earnshaw.

Grenville, who has been travelling to the Isle of Man for the TT races since 1957, was thrilled to be recognised for his long-term support of the event.

He said: "It's the greatest sport in the world, I love it, 51 years I've been going now."

The TT stalwart visits the isle for two weeks every year and says that he lives for the event.

The Isle of Man TT Race is a motorcycle racing event which has been held there since 1907.

The race is run in a time-trial format on public roads closed for racing.
