PENRHYNCOCH take a break from league action with a trip to Prestatyn Town in the first round of the Huws Gray Cup on Saturday.

The Roosters make the trip in fine heart despite being held to a draw at Denbigh Town last week.

Manager Gari Lewis said: “A point was not the end of the world and to be disappointed goes to show how far we have come.

“We could have won it but Denbigh could have done so at the end so a point was perhaps the right result.”

Penrhyn rued missed chances to put the game to bed but Lewis insisted a point at Denbigh was a good result.

“Denbigh may have lost two on the bounce but they have beaten Bangor City at home this season,” said Lewis. “They are good going forward.

“Had we scored again I couldn’t see any way back for them as we looked rock solid at the back.

“Having defended so well we conceded a poor goal as we failed to deal with a bouncing ball in the box but will take a point and look ahead to the Prestatyn game with confidence.”
