South Lancs/Cheshire League - Division Two
Buxton 7, Oswestry Eagles 26

A FINE kicking performance from Chris Crutchley helped Oswestry to a fifth win in seven outings as they piled the pressure on the teams above them after running in four tries at struggling Buxton.

Oswestry made the trip to the league’s bottom side having enjoyed a week’s break from competitive action but were forced to come from behind to take the win after Buxton had opened the scoring early on.

Any signs of rust were soon forgotten however when Tom Treasure’s try put Oswestry on the scoreboard while one from Andy Merritt and a superb individual score from Craig Howell gave Crutchley the chance to kick Oswestry out of sight before Rich Owen also went over to bag a valuable second away win of the season.
