Division One

Ellesmere Rangers 0,

Westfields 0

UGLY scenes marred Ellesmere Rangers’ goalless draw with Westfields on Saturday after one player  as bitten and another left needing hospital treatment.

The full-time whistle sparked a mass brawl between players as they headed towards the dressing rooms following a drab encounter between the two teams.

And Rangers club secretary, John Edge, confirmed that he had sent a report about the performance of

match referee, Colin Nahor, from Wolverhampton, to the league. The game proved the tale of two

defences with neither goalkeeper having a serious save to make as Ellesmere frustrated the visitors

from Hereford with Jamie Williams going closest to a winner for Ellesmere when he fired over the bar

before one Westfields player was sent off late on.

But the talking point undoubtedly came after the match when the two sides headed off the pitch in a

flashpoint that left one Rangers player knocked out cold and another nursing a bite to his arm, while Westfields were accused by club officials and onlookers of swapping shirts in the aftermath to avoid culpability.
