Villagers take to streets to support school
THIRTY babies and toddlers, together with their mums protested outside Selattyn School last week to demonstrate their feelings about the threat of closure.
These children comprise of a handful of the 'school of the future' and some carried placards saying. "When I grow up I want to go to Selattyn School."
Since the school was named as one of the 22 schools in Shropshire on the closure list they have been innundated with messages of support from prospective parents who are determined that their children should be educated in their village school.
Parents and supporters who took to the streets of Oswestry the Saturday after the decision was announced, say they were over-whelmed with the support from the wider community as hundreds of people signed to support the future of the school.
