WELSHAMPTON School are quietly triumphant after last week's schools announcement, but are cautiously not being blinded by the apparent u-turn.
Catherine Youd, parent governor at the school said: "We remain optimistic that the outcome will be OK, though nobody seems to be answering any questions, we are pleased but will wait until it is in black and white that the school will absolutely not close. The parents were half deflated, half jubilant.

"We will take a step back and have a bit of a breather to collect data and organise ourselves, so for now it's business as usual," she said.

The school hope that the action group that was formed for the campaign will stay together to ensure the school remains the success it is, and keep the community close as so many people showed their support and pulled together.
