Whitchurch Food and Drink Festival's team is thrilled to announce that celebrity chef and TV favourite Rosemary Shrager is returning to Shropshire this year to open the event.

The festival will be celebrating its fifth anniversary from May 19 and 20 throughout Whitchurch Civic Centre.

Rosemary's latest TV work includes being a judge on The Big Family Cooking Showdown and, most recently, The Real Marigold Hotel on Tour when the chef and her group of TV veterans travelled to China and Thailand to experience retirement in a foreign country, which aired on BBC One in December 2017.

Rosemary is a talented and versatile chef who loves talking about food as much as she loves cooking.

She said: "I am really looking forward to visiting Whitchurch Food and Drink Festival again, I had such a ball back in 2016. It was great to see a small town working together to host a wonderful festival."

During her time at the festival on Saturday, May 19, Rosemary will complete two live cookery demonstrations on stage as well as judging the Celebration Cake Competition, which is open to both amateurs and professionals.

There is even the chance to watch the Royal Wedding on the big screens.

The event, which has grown year on year, will showcase over eighty trade stands, both inside and outside the Civic Centre, supported by an Artisan Craft Market in Whitchurch High Street.

Children can perfect their cookery skills at the Kids Kitchen and there will be live musical performances from a range of talented local artists in the outdoor Food Court. This is a fun, free festival that you really do not want to miss.
