The Youth Free A Bowling in the park is a group founded in 2009 to secure the safety of the bowling green in Cae Glas Park in Oswestry.
Every year there is a doubles competition with normally 20-30 entrants.
This year the competition winners were Frank Hules and Julie McCabe beating Richard Beaman and Liz Scottman in a close final.
The shield is sponsored by local Insurance Brokers Coversure Insurance Services in Beatrice street Oswestry and presented by the managing director Darrell Brindley.
The organiser of the event is Cath Lewis who has overseen the competition for the past ten years.
The delightful presentation meal was held at the Tankard (The Oswestrian) in Oswestry English walls just off red square who offered a comfortable location with friendly staff.
