A care provider in Oswestry has been rated 'outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Allenby Douglas on Church Street, is now part of the two per cent of care providers nationally who have attained 'outstanding' in CQC inspections. They are also the only care provider in Oswestry to be rated as 'outstanding', and the only domiciliary care provider in Shropshire to have gained this rating.

Andrew Harris, CEO and co-registered manager at Allenby Douglas said: "All staff here at Allenby Douglas are absolutely thrilled with the results of our latest CQC inspection report in which we were rated as 'good' or 'outstanding' in all five areas and rated 'outstanding' overall. This achievement is due to our committed and caring staff who work incredibly hard to ensure that all our clients are well cared for, comfortable and safe.

"I was not here for the inspection in January but as the current CEO and registered manager I am incredibly proud of the team both here in the office and the carers out in the community. The report is a true reflection of the ethos and values of the company. I feel it highlights that our clients are treated with compassion and dignity. I am of course delighted that we had 'outstanding' overall and this is as a result of a concerted team effort throughout the company, from a team that are proud to work in domiciliary care.

"There are numerous quotes in the report from clients and their relatives to support this and these extracts from the report are just two of very many examples. 'People were supported by highly motivated staff who were passionate about their roles and making a difference to people's lives.' and 'They (staff) are always on time and even came out to me in all that bad weather. They always stay their full time with me.'

"I would personally like to thank each and every member of staff for the outstanding care and support they provide for our clients and to the clients and their relatives who were contacted and contributed to the inspection report."
