After launching a litter campaign that went viral, Oswestry schoolteacher and her daughter are at it again.

Mandy and Becky Price’s #doitfordavid campaign was shared 2,000 times on social media in just one week.

For Sir David Attenborough's birthday on May 8 they will be holding a litter pick event on the Bailey Head, Oswestry.

Mandy said: "My daughter and I love the environment and want to protect it. It will be such a tragedy in the future if our children couldn't do the things we do and see what we see.

"I thought to myself, why are we just doing beach cleans when 80 per cent of litter ends up in the ocean. We need people to get involved everywhere but they wouldn't do it for us, Sir David Attenborough is 92-years-old in May so it would be a nice surprise for him.

"I was surprised the campaign went viral with 109,000 shares all over the world."

Mandy would also like Oswestry Town Council to work with Shropshire Council to place recycle bins around Oswestry as well as more litter bins.

She added: "It is important to make people aware of what is happening and make it second nature to recycle."
