A chance for kids of all ages to be zoo-keepers for the day is proving a hit.

North Shropshire College (NSC) is offering adults and children from the age of seven to ‘be a keeper for the day’ at its Walford Campus in Baschurch.

The experience days, which take place on the Animal Care Unit, are ideal for those who love animals or are wishing to experience something new with the college boasting more than 100 different species of animals, and more than 700 animals in total, giving visitors the chance to experience a variety of activities from feeding meerkats, and learning about tropical fish, to handling snakes and rabbits.

Isla and Ben Rothera, aged 10 and 11, were lucky enough to attend a recent ‘Be a Keeper’ day and said: “This was such an incredible day, we really enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot about the animals at Walford."
